Adding volume back into the cheeks is a non-surgical way to lift the tissue of the lower face, help to soften smile lines, and improve the appearance of the under eyes. Bone structure provides the scaffolding of the face, when volume is lost here it can add to aging of the under eyes and lower face. Cheek filler is composed of hyaluronic acid (HA) which is a natural sugar compound that is found throughout the human body’s connective tissues.

In the skin, it is used to attract water and keep the skin plump and hydrated. It is strategically placed along the natural cheek bone to contour and improve facial balancing. Good candidates for cheek fillers include those who want a more defined mid-face, those who have lost volume due to aging, and those who have recently experienced significant weight loss.

Am I A Candidate For Cheek Fillers?

Both men and women can be great candidates for a customizable cheek filler treatment plan at Peak Plastic Surgery. Most candidates are typically experiencing volume loss in the face which can cause sunken, hollow areas and harshen creases and lines, making them look tired or older. Aging and weight loss often cause volume loss that can be addressed with cheek fillers.

What Filler Is Used For Cheeks?

Although there are many options on the market, Peak Plastic Surgery Center only offers fillers that offer optimal results and uphold the highest safety standards. Our injectors only use biodegradable FDA-approved filler for this area which would be Juvederm Voluma or Restylane Lyft.

What Does Maintenance Look Like?

Filler results will be seen immediately. Sometimes multiple syringes will be required to achieve the desired results. This can either be done at the same appointment or added several weeks or months later to get optimal results.

Cheek filler typically lasts between 12-18 months. Our office favors natural looking results, and our injectors will not let you look over done or puffy. Patients who have cheek filler also tend to notice a reduction in the appearance of aging under the eyes and in the lower face.

You should contact our office if you experience any lasting pain or signs of an infection after your treatment.

What Can I Expect During My Appointment?

After a thorough consultation with our Physician Assistant, a determination on whether cheek filler is right for you will be made. Numbing cream may be applied to the area but the product already contains lidocaine which makes the procedure nearly painless. The treatment may take around 30 minutes and results will be seen immediately. As hyaluronic acid attracts water, the filler will improve over time and create a more contoured even appearance. Over the next several days the filler may swell and takes approximately 2 weeks to see full results and symmetry. It is recommended to avoid alcohol, salty foods, makeup, and exercise for 24 hours following the procedure.
